The festival aims to honor the Buddha-Emperor Tran Nhan Tong as well as to raise people’s awareness on the value of the special national relic of Tran Dynasty in Dong Trieu Town.
The event will include a wide range of interesting activities such as sounding drum, opening ceremony, praying ceremony for peace and prosperity for the country, traditional folk game, and art performances, etc.
As planned, the festival will last for three months.
The People’s Committee of Dong Trieu district has been carried out preparatory tasks such as restoring and repairing relics, constructing traffic roads to the site and vehicle parking, etc. Especially, the capacity of the cable car system has been expanded to serve up to 3,500 passengers per hour.
Located on Bao Dai Mountain (Tay Son Hamlet, Binh Khe Commune, Dong Trieu Town) which was built during Tran Dynasty, Ngoa Van pagpda was recognized as the special national relic of Tran Dynasty in Dong Trieu town. The pagoda is the place the Buddha-Emperor Tran Nhan Tong founded Truc Lam Zen Monastery and attained Nirvana.
The upgrade of Ngoa Van Pagoda began in 2014 with a total investment of nearly VND90 billion (nearly US$4 million)../.
